Claire’s
first paste paper commission was for thirty
25 x 38 inch sheets of the
pattern covering the book
pictured opposite, Two Tales by
Merce Rodoreda,
published by Red Ozier Press. This commission also
marked
the beginning of Claire’s career as a
production decorative paper maker.
She is known
for her consistent quality of patterns and impeccable
color
matching. Other small presses have commissioned
special patterns for their
limited edition books. Some of
these presses include Alembic Press,
Borderlands Press,
Caliban, Fleece Press, and Old School Press. Among
the
many titles published by Alembic Press featuring
Claire’s papers are the
titles Maziarczyk Paste Papers
and Miniature Paste
Papers, shown below. |

PASTEPAPER PATTERNS are well suited as a decorative element in
mats in the picture framing
market. The variety of patterns and colors are
suitable to accent favorite objects, children’s art,
and old family
photos. Claire’s work has been regularly featured in
PICTURE FRAMING
MAGAZINE.
The June 2005 issue highlights some of her work in the
article on Design Trends. Some of the
Product Showcase images are featured
below. All papers used are from the standard line in
the swatch book. |

Because
of the exposure of Claire’s papers
in art and book binding supply stores
in
New York City, custom paper patterns have
been commissioned by graphic
design
companies and publishers looking for a
unique surface design. Many
patterns have
been designed for custom invitations and
corporate
presentation portfolios. Numerous
patterns have been reproduced on trade
paperback covers, book jackets, children’s
books, album and CD covers,
computer
software packaging, and linens. Contact
Claire directly to
discuss reproduction rights
and fees. |
